Video Production in a Visualisation Environment

Computer Graphics provides an extremely powerful tool for information visualisation, and has transformed many subject areas. However, whatever the developments in graphics hardware, it is always possible to produce a program which cannot operate at adequate speed. By using video as an intermediate medium it is possible to visualise the results of such programs efficiently and conveniently. This paper presents the design and implementation of a video production environment, which allows video equipment to be integrated with more conventional graphics systems, as a tool for the computer graphics user.
